Good morning again. I want to thank those who have said that they would like to hear some of the house sitting adventures that Marily and I have had over these past several years. It has been so much fun to do these sits and we have met so many great people and animals.A lot of people may not know what house sitting is or how it works. Back several years ago after I had retired I found a site on line, TrustedHousesitters.com that listed hundreds of folks looking for someone to come into their home for a period of time (from a couple of days to months at a time) to watch their house and usually their animals. These listings are from all over the world.The above site allows you to look at the house sits available and if you see something of interest you need to join the site and pay their fee to make contact with the prospective house sit people. There are a number of house sit sites on the internet, some charging and some not.For Trusted House Sitters you fill out your bio and they do a background check to verify you. This is done, of course, for the safety of the persons inviting you into their home.Once you are approved you are able to contact the prospect through the site. If you look like a fit for them then they will contact you back.Most sits available on Trusted House Sitters are non-paid sits but there some listing sits that offer some compensation to the sitter. Marily and I have done only sits from Trusted House Sitters because we feel that the benifits we get from having the sit is well worth it to us.In future posts I will give some more thoughts on the benifits of house sitting.
